Can You Write Your Way To A Lead?
Do you believe you can write your way to more leads and website traffic? You can! You'll be shocked at how well it works and you don't have to be a professional writer.
Now you might be wondering what I mean when I say "write your way to more leads". Well, it is actually very easy. You simply write articles, newsletters, blogs, ads, and/or emails and you don't have to have a degree to do it. If you can talk about something, anything, you can do all these things I've mentioned. Obviously, the more you can talk about things that people want to hear about most, the more people will be reading what you write. When they read your blogs, articles, or newsletter, you have a captive audience in which to develop a relationship and possible business partnership. The more value you can provide in the things you write, the more people will gravitate to what you write. Be sure to put lots of good keywords for your topic into what you write too.
Why provide value? Well, there are tons and tons of people out there that are trying to take something from people - mostly their money. Most people do not want to be SOLD something - they would rather make a choice and buy something if they really see it providing a benefit to them. Your job is to simply provide the value and let a website visitor make the choice themselves, without all the hype, garbage and hard sell.
So to get started, decide what you want to talk about ( hopefully something that relates to what ever business you happen to be building) and decide how you want to convey your message.(articles, blogs, emails, etc.) Once you've done that, you need to decide who your target audience is and what they need or want. You need to provide the answer to their most pressing need and desire and offer them a solution and a way to continue to get more information. You can do this through an opt in page to your monthly newsletter or used follow up emails that you send through an autoresponder system. The great thing about autoresponders is that you can set them up to send messages every day, week, or month and you don't have to worry about it after that. Just make sure you have a specific number of messages that maintain contact with your lead. They say it takes at least 7 contacts with a person before they will trust you enough to do business with you, especially on the internet.
Now creating content does not always come easy for most people and it certainly didn't for me. I had to find some online training that would teach me the things I needed to know about how to go about this, and create some highly effective content. Although you don't have to have a degree to write content, there are secrets to know that just give you that edge. Another key to creating effective content is to keep creating it. You can't just write one article, blog, etc, and expect miracle to happen, you have to be consistent.
